3 subway stops- 10 minutes, you feel like you've known each other forever.

You're waiting for the train with milk tea on hand. A tall handsome mid 20's guy approaches you. He for asks the time, he starts a conversation. You have a few laughs. You get his witty banters. He tells you, he's going to Pennsylvania to visit his mother. He's running late for the 10:45 Greyhound bus. The train comes, you removed your gloves and gave him a high five.

28th street, you tell him. "2 stops, you're gonna make it". He says, "I like your optimism".

34th street, Herald square. He asks, "What if I don't make it on time? Can I blame you and your optimism?". You say, "You can blame it all on me and hunt me down". He laughs and says "You know what, you're nice. I feel guilty I'd rather blame myself".

"I've never learned my lesson, do you ever learn yours?" He asks

"Never" You said

He has an empty suitcase that his mom likes to fill up with stuff. You think "Oh, he's interesting"

10:22 pm. He asks "Do you think I should panic now that it's 10:22?"

You say, "No. I'd rather wait until 10:25"

10:25pm- Times Square. You say, "Oh, this is my stop"

He says, "Mine too!!!!!"

"Maybe i'll see you next time at 23rd"

You just smiled and thought, "Maybe"

The Staring Love Story aka Obligatory February Rant

I know I am hopeless romantic. Maybe that's why I never liked any guys who showed interest. I am waiting for someone to sweep me off my feet and meet him the most unexpected way possible.

Like now, I've always wanted to have a love story like in Hollywood movies. Meeting someone in the subway, end up liking the same stuff and hit it off. Sounds easy, right? Well, don't think so now.

Actually, I meet a few nice guys in the subway. But it was never a hollywood love story. There's always something wrong. I think i'm in my own fantasy, waiting for my superficial leading man. But like any other leading ladies, I have to forget about that fantasy.

Anyway, on to my story. I saw a potential superficial hollywood subway guy tonight. We took the 7 train at the same station. Transferred trains in the same station and ended up getting off at the same stop. We also took the same exit and walked the same road. I can see him looking back to my direction. My subway love story for tonight <3

On Commuting Part Trois

I love/hate subway rides.

I didn't like it it due to the fact that the subway lines are very confusing. Often times, I get lost. I take the wrong train and sends me off to a different direction and I hate asking for directions whenever I get lost. Also, they are freakin' slow compared to the Rail. (Yes, subways and rails are 2 different modes of transport here.. quite weird.)

Another factor is the subway is not really the cleanest place in New York. Trash everywhere, scurrying rats in the waiting area, smelly bums sleeping inside the subway car. I wouldn't eat my Dunkin' Donuts breakfast there if I were you.

Also, trains are often late or too early. Never ever rely on Google maps train schedule. Never reliable.. Trust me.

However, I also find subway rides fun. It's like a mini cultural preview of people living here. I like watching people. I like eavesdropping into conversations and using it as material for my so-called stories. I like bands trying to get discovered inside the subway and playing good folk/rock/sometimes spanish music.

I adore the pre-recorded announcement of the subway man saying, "Stand clear of the closing doors please.. ding dong".. I'm a weirdo.

I love that I learn something from listening from their conversations: from everyday work stress, to parties and awkward coffee dates, to planning a future and choosing the best colleges.

I have learned to look at the map before riding a subway so I won't get lost. I now know what north, south, east and west exits mean and how important it is to exit at the right road.

It usually gets too close, no personal space. But I've learned that if you stay by the doors, you're pretty safe from all the kili-kilis of the subway riders.

$2.50 dollars as compared to a $20 dollar cab ride makes a difference.

And actually, It's not like I have a choice. I don't have a car and having one is too expensive. It's not that bad considering I have a new crush who takes the same train as me in the mornings. So, subway it is! ;)

Amazing how we easily take the things we have for granted. Like we know that it will always be there so you never realize the importance of it anymore.

A friend mentioned me this earlier while we were make up shopping. You know, you set your alarm at 6:30 am but you end up waking up at 7:20 because you've been snoozing too long?

See, it all leads to one word. Discipline. Think about it. What is the point of setting it at an earlier time when you'll wake up an hour after anyway? I don't know either.

Lazyness? I guess so.

See, even the bible has got something to say about lazyness. I know God doesn't like lazy. How would he give you something better if you cannot manage what he gave you for now?

Being in new york is no easy thing. Everybody wants to be somebody. Competition is really tough. Whether it's the arts business or any industry you can think of. If you're successful in NY, there isn't anything you can do- metaphorically speaking that is.

Most days, i still can't believe that I'm here. Trying to make it. Sure i live by the boundary but it still gives me the chills the fact that I'm getting closer to my NYC dream.

I know for sure that being here will help me find what i really want. The truth is, its really hard not knowing. But i am confident that God will help me find it here.

Some days may be really tough. I even wonder how i got through those days. Maybe i'm getting stronger maybe i'm on the path to maturity. At the end of the day, I'm thankful that i am here.

As what i always tell my friends, God will not put me in a position where i wouldnt learn something. I know that i will make it here. Not now, but i will definitely make it here.

It has been a while since I made sense in this blog. I got too tired and all those excuses so sorry blog if I neglected you.

Anyway, in case you haven't heard; I'm in New York now. Not really New York City. I live by the border so I guess I'm considered a New Yorker too. The city is 30 mins away if I take the LIRR. So..

Coming to the US is a humbling experience. This made me contemplate on the stuff I have been doing back home.

Sure I have a foster family here but weekdays(and weekends until mid-june) I get to become a full grown adult. It was pretty overwhelming and was caught off-guard i must say. I know nothing about budgeting coz all I did in the Philippines was shop and let my mom take care of everything else.

It sucks that I live alone and do all the adult stuff and I'm still considered a 'kid' here. Ugh I can't wait til my 21st birthday.

Going to a new place is like being the new girl in school. You have to start from scratch. You have to exert an effort to make friends and be nice to everyone because you don't want to become insane.

What motivates me? The fact that I can see my favorite bands if they have gigs in the city. And coffee and italian food. :)

However, right now I'm enjoying my alone time exploring alone and walking. I haven't fully adjusted on everything yet. I have to get the hang of the weekend commute. So wish me luck.

Okay, I first heard this on Princess Diaries. That scene where Anne Hathaway was teary eyed and Hector Elizondo tried to make her feel better by quoting Eleanor Roosevelt.

It didn't give that much impact before as to know. As I got older, I realized the significance of this saying. I used to let people push me around to a certain extent.

Little words affect me so much that I couldn't go on with what i'm doing when I'm criticized. Now I know, the only person who can bring me down is myself.

I haven't been people watching since I got here. I got caught up with the busyness of everyone that I figured I left my laid back self back at home.

Now I know, living away from home is overrated. No, don't take the statement wrong, I love being here but sometimes I wonder why kids want to leave the comfort. You know, going home you have food served on the table, maids to do your laundry and such. Maybe it's the change of pace. Maybe it's the thrill of the unknown. I have no idea. But I know for sure I love the unpredictability of things right now.

People say I'm very strong because I left by myself. Expecting nothing. Actually, I'm not. I'm still scared and worried when things don't go my way.

I guess I'd have to learn this way.

The truth is, among all the books I've read. I have no favorites. Yeah, I like re-reading some quotes but i've never read a book twice.

Alright maybe the book that hit me was Chinese Cinderella. I was crying like a baby when I read the book. I finished it for only two hours.

Sometimes being busy is good. You don't have to think about things you won't benefit from. When I was busy, all I had to think about is myself myself myself.

But sometimes, you stop being busy and every single thing you're trying to forget starts to fuck you up all over again. Everything is sinking in. I want you. But I can't have you. I know for sure I can't have you. Now I'm being redundant.

Anyway, maybe that's one reason why God made me leave the Philippines. He knows that if I stay there for long, I'll just keep hoping until forever. Maybe that's why I've met cool people here. So I can divert my thoughts to somewhere else. There are those times where I can't stop myself from thinking about it. But yeah, whatever i have to do this for myself.

I have to give myself a chance and let someone in.

In the City

I find it ironic that I've only had the initiative to enjoy Manila commuting now that I'm about to leave.

I must admit, I used to be scared of people that don't dress nicely. Not to be matapobre or anything but my mother led me to believe that people who don't dress nicely are either: thieves, horny and lonely men, or terrorists. With that, I avoid every PUV I come across and limit myself to riding cabs, shuttles and tricycles.

However, in the past few days I had no choice but to use my worse enemy, the public transport. And yes, Alone.

As I boarded the bus en route to Cubao, I told myself: "Act as if you're good at this. Don't do anything stupid". I walked to the back of the bus and found a free seat by the window. I pulled my earphones out and played my "City Strolling" playlist.

What I love most about the experience is allowing myself to see Manila in a different perspective. I feel like a tourist in my own country sans the maps and the tourguide. I mentally scolded myself for not having a camera with me and I'm too scared to use my phone because it attracts thieves. I allowed myself to reflect with what I am seeing:

I seem to maintain my love hate relationship with makati. I hate it because it's too crowded most days. I hate it because of the pollution and cigarette butts along Ayala ave. But whenever I walk along the streets of Makati, every bit of stress inside my body seems to go away.

I know it doesn't apply to MOST people but when I go there, I feel like i'm in my own wonderland. I like the anonymity. You can be strangers and acquaintances at the same time. The six degrees of separation and seeing the random cute guy at Mcdonald's Paseo i see everytime i'm there.

I guess i'm still the same old starry eyed girl.

I was supposed to post this yesterday. But I was having a shitty internet connection last night that I could not upload the picture on the left. I was also having a bad case of kasabawan after a petty fight with my inay.

Anyway, among other favorites, this was the best one so far. I like movies that have confusing plots that make me think. I'm just weird like that. I like the fact that it kept me wondering what will happen if there really is a Lacuna Inc. . As I've said a million times, I would love to try that.

There was one scene that always makes me cry. That one moment where Joel (Jim Carrey) was begging Dr. Mierzwiak to let him keep one memory of Clementine. I guess I have to watch the movie now. :)

P.S. I'm planning to relive the Clementine+Joel love story in the LIRR. I'm visiting Montauk soon.. :)

I initially heard this during my 2008 bumming days. The moment I heard the intro, I fell in love with it. Since then, It has become a routine to listen to the song every morning while riding the shuttle, after a bad day at work, or even when I take a shower.

The song never fails to make me smile and sometimes I can't help but singalong with it even if I'm surrounded with strangers. If time permits and I have enough money, I would love to see her live next month. :)

People at home are starting to get irritated with my monthly treasure hunting in our attic. You see, I have a thing for vintage shit and I have no idea as to why I'm very much enchanted to things people consider as trash.

Maybe I'm a living proof of the saying "One man's trash is another man's treasure". Alright, enough ranting and let's get to the point of my story.

I found a Kaiser Diascop slide viewer in our attic!!! I literally squealed and jumped until I got tired. Imagine my happiness when I found this. It's better than ice cream and frozen yogurt combined. I told myself I can use this when I get too lazy having my films scanned and imagined all sorts of things I can do with it. It was like I won a raffle.

I started tinkering with it, then I realized how complicated this thing is. I couldn't find the manual, no internet tutorials, ex-dad who previously used this were nowhere to be found. Ugh FML. Ohwell, I'm gonna binge myself with films to compensate on this sudden sadness. :|

Edit(01/31/09 11:14am): Exdad, to my surprise visited my siblings at home. And I got a semi 101 on this baby. and he 'officially' gave it to me. His exact words are "ingatan mo to ha, mahal yan" oh yes I will exdad. But yea, i have to find the frames for this. Either way, i'm still excited to use it. :)

I'm having a bad case of PMS for days now.

..I've been eating every five minutes. Regardless of how many calories each item of food has. I just shove it in my mouth chew chew and swallow. I swore I gained XX pounds with this pms.

... I'm having a bad case of drama queen for days now. I cried because over a stupid joke.

... Palpitations, nausea, and randomly barfing off the food I ate (I promise it's not bulimia. I swear people!)

... I almost hit another car earlier because of the nausea. uh shit. I say. shit. It was hot. I felt dizzy. Blurred vision.

...Self pity. hahahaha!

.. Recurring OCD. I fixed my closet. then unfixed it again then fixed it again then the cycle continued til i got tired. It ended up a disaster anyway.

I wanna kick some guy in the balls right now. ugh.

Hello there, I’m in the mood to make a new year’s resolution list. I should take this list seriously and will try my best to do these things:

1. Make someone happy at least once a week.

2. Continue living healthily and reach 100lbs.

3. Read an average of 3 books per month.

4. Take risks and date! (oh carmina, stop looking at just one dude!)

5. Avoid chocolates.

6. Get another tattoo.

7. Get that Goddamn theatre acting lesson I’ve been itching about for years!

8. Learn more recipes

9. Learn another language

10. Stop being so cynical about everything

11. Stop being a secret friend or whatever you call it. And stop being on secret dates. It’s getting pathetic. and it's becoming your thing. ugh

12. Love yourself

13. Learn to love others

14. Keep a diary. You should really buy a nice notebook and stop using that worn out (and free) blue cross notebook

15. Give more hugs and encouraging words.

16. Find out what I really love doing

17. And lastly, be a better daughter, sister, friend, niece, and ninang.

However, I really hope that I leave the country first quarter of this year. I’ve been waiting for it for so long already. Please God. Thank you.

I know I have a great year ahead. Better than last year. Now it's time to make more memories and experience new things. :)

What I learned in 2009: A recap.

After all the new year’s hiatus. I started writing this shit. It’s not too late, is it?

I’ve learned that I should do something that I love and interested in.

Well let’s start. I started last year with the wrong foot. I was younger, more immature and vulnerable. I practically have no idea what real life is. I started 2009 with a frown. Haha. Honestly! I didn’t have a job, no money. I was practically carrying a lot of burden from people expecting me to be perfect.

Okay that was dramatic but I guess you get the point. Anyway, I got a job a few weeks after I started my serious job search. However, I did not consider the fact that I’m building a foundation for my career. So I ended up accepting that job I wasn’t really keen of. Half a year later, I filed my resignation. So here I am, freelancing/part timing or whatever you want to call it. To be honest, I like it better now than when I’m working 7-4. I get a decent amount of money, I can go out anytime as long as there are no meetings and such and all those other perks.And yes, people who are reading this. I'm not a bum as you think. I don't exactly broadcast the fact that I'm part timing to everyone. Even my best friends. Sorry na. Sabay sabay niyo nang nalaman. :D

Travel. Travel. Travel!

I know it’s such a hassle if you have a job and all. However, I’ve realized that travelling to other places and learning about culture is fulfilling. I went to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Suzhou and Ilocos this year. I saw Hong Kong at a new light. I’ve realized that there are so many hidden treasures that I haven’t discovered prior to my 2009 HK trip. Hollywood Road was breathtaking (for an artsy fartsy lover like me). HK Central feels like Luneta on Sundays. And nothing is more fun than getting lost in a foreign land with your friends. I even considered moving to HK a few months ago, but I already killed the idea because apartments are expensive there.

China was also beautiful! I enjoyed sightseeing at Shanghai and feeding my Holga a few shots. I loved how east and west met halfway. I’ve also learned a new word “Bu Yao”. It means I don’t want. You tell it to people trying to sell you stuff. I’ve also dubbed shanghai as book heaven. You can buy books and novels for only 15 RMB(Roughly 150 pesos).

I loved how they were in touch with their culture. I remember going to an ancient village called the tiger hill. Everything was beautiful. The canals, people weaving, pottery and people living the simple life.

Bonding with family= Priceless

I’ve never been this close to my family before. I used to stay home while they eat out and bond. However, I’ve realized that I should extend an olive branch and reach out to my family. I found out that my 5-year old sister is so mature that she can carry adult conversations. My brother is so good in basketball that his school made him team captain. How I am very much like my mother. My uncle and I have the same interest in music, art and all.

Make time for friends

I’ve read somewhere that in order for friendship to grow, constant communication should be present. I used to hibernate all the time and it did nothing good to my relationship with friends. On the last quarter of the year, I exerted an effort in bringing me and my friends together. I’ve realized that I missed out on my friends. Also, meeting them once a week keeps me from insanity.

Random conversations give you life lessons

I used to go home from work at 9 or 10 pm on weekdays. That’s 5 hours after I get out of the office. I used to spend my time at Food Choices with my officemates and talk and talk and talk about everything. I learn a lot of things from my office ates when we bond and talk. Thanks mga teh! J

Pray.

I was never religious. I never go to mass every Sunday nor I confess and do religious stuff. However, last year, I started praying to bro real hard. Believe me, it does wonders. J

Always bring barya when you’re going to commute.

One thing I realized from riding a bus, the kundoktors take advantage of people without change. They say “Balikan nalang kita ah, wala pakong panukli eh”. A few minutes later, and there’s your stop he still never gave you a change. Goodbye 7 pesos for you! So the aftermath, you spent 7 pesos for nothing and pissed. So bring coins every freakin time!

When in heels, always bring spare footwear. Preferably a pair of havs or flats

Do I need to explain this? Imagine walking from Paseo de Roxas to SM Makati. I sort of hate Ayala Avenue pavement. It’s hole-y. It ruins my shoes! I go home with scratches on my Charles and Keith heels. Goodbye some thousand pesos! So bring flats or slippers, no matter how ugly it would look with your office clothes. I swear that would freaking save you money!

Google maps, Pinoyexchange and Ph-commute.blogspot.com. Always reliable.

Imagine driving or commuting to someplace unfamiliar to you. You don’t know how to get to the destination. And hell our country is very much delayed when it comes to GPS. Looking at maps, asking for directions via online forum and a little research can do the trick. Saves you time and money also.

While doing research on where to go next, I realized that I want to go back to Hong Kong. Yeah, i was there in June, but I kinda miss it. It's probably considered as my second homeland. haha. I've had lots of memories in Hong Kong.

What are you thankful for?

So i'm in front of my laptop, checking my tumblr dashboard when I noticed a new widget/link or whatever you call it. Being my typically nosy self, i clicked it. It said "Post something you're really thankful for". I kinda debated with myself if I should post there because I have so many things to be thankful for--- and tumblr isn't designed for long posts.

Here's my list:

I'm thankful for my mom, who stood by me through everything. Though she didn't exactly raise me up(I grew up with my yayas because she's busy with work and college) she made up for the lost time. She's open to things and knows what I'm going through. We can drink together and talk about the guys i've dated. Awkward for some but pretty natural for me. She gets along with my bestfriends and deals with my bitch-fits, and tolerates my hunger for individuality. Im not exactly showy, but i really love her.
I'm thankful for my daddy who isn't always there but makes the effort to meet me though things are complicated. I'm silently proud of him and I still keep an old picture of him in my wallet(a picture of him and me on my second birthday). Sometimes, it just feels good to be reminded that I look like him, it made me feel less different. I hope I see him this Christmas. My favorite memory of him was when he brought two big boxes of chupachups lollipops because I mentioned that it was my favorite. That's a month's worth of lollipops for me. :D -- haha i was a spoiled kid
I'm thankful for my papa obet, my favorite tito. I call him 'papa' coz he's the father figure of the family. When I was little, he would pick me up from school or at home because my mom isn't there and he would bring me to carnivals and shower me with junk food and he'd let me sleep over because I can't play with other kids when i'm at home. He gave me my very first cassette tape. It was Spice Girls. :D. He taught me how to use 'po' and 'opo'. Now that i'm grown up, we still get along very well. What used to be conversations about toys and power rangers became conversations about life and making the right choices-- and of course, our fascination with tattoos. we'll get our tattoos together. :)yey!
I'm thankful for my siblings. Though we often fight, I'm slowly learning a lesson or two on patience. And chloe, she's really smart. She's like a 12 year old stuck in a 5 year old's body.
I'm thankful for my friends who are always there for me. I may not be the best kind of friend because i'm always hibernating but they're still there to listen to my rants, pet peeves and all those drama queen stuff. I appreciate little things they did for me go to my house unannounced at 1am just to eat at Mcdonalds and talk until the crack of dawn-- haha and get stranded at Sucat road coz it's flooding, a friend consoling me when i'm crying inside a tricycle, coffee breaks and saturday night dinners.
I'm grateful that I was given an opportunity to meet my ex-workmates who have become my friends. Though I dislike what I did at work, I love the people I worked with. They taught me a thing or two on how to stay grounded and appreciate little things in life. They taught me to appreciate good food and save money. haha. They also taught me to feel comfortable in my own skin and let loose. I loved our walks at the ramp to lift the depression and stress from work. I somehow matured in the way I should see things and gave me a wider perspective in life.
I'm also grateful for long walks to help me ease my mind. Good music whenever i'm lonely and tumblr for recommending good music everytime.

I was once driving alone, bored and thinking,. I’ve come to realize that driving has some life lessons. I don’t know if I’m just too buzzed with coffee or if I’m making a point here.

1. Learn to give way

a. When the road is not enough to fit two cars, you have to decide which car goes first. In my case, i guess im too nice. You should not always go first. Give way. You’re not always right. Learn to listen to the other end and make a point(or move.. )

2. Patience is a virtue

3. When you fail once, don’t lose hope.. try again if you should.

a. Well if were really close, I guess i've told you about my recent experience with a truck. That

truck hit my left bumper and Bam! there's a hole on the bumper. I got somewhat traumatized

with what happened so i stopped driving for a few weeks. I realized that it would be such a

waste if I stop driving.

4. Nothing is more fulfilling than reaching a destination

Lately, I realized how I’m unconsciously isolating myself from my best friends. Maybe it’s from all the dieting and I’m probably too busy sorting my life and they’re busy with school that our weekly meet-ups died down.

I’m so glad that that we went out for a dinner date over the weekend. We had some intense catching up to do. Unfortunately, we had to go home early coz Tel has classes the next day.

Nothing beats a night of faux self pity and endless talk on everything. And coffee ofcourse.

I love them.

I guess I should end my hibernation mode now and spend more time with my friends.

I have a love-hate relationship with manila since forever. I hate the pollution and how it is congested with people and cars and vendors and everything.

I am seriously trying to get out of this place as soon as possible. However, I also don't wanna leave this place because I know that there are still so many things and sites to see. I love the mysteriousness of dear manila.

Being the pampered child I was(yes, i've never been out of south alone until i started working.), I could say that i have yet to see the eskinitas and secret spots of manila.Heck! I haven't been to Cubao x either.

I could fall in love with manila .. It's not too late..

But first of all.. I have to wait for a something first and learn how to use it. It'll be my companion for the 'excursion' . I'm gonna have to binge on 120 films for my baby rico(i nicknamed my holga.. i'm psychotic).. :)

So yea, manila we'll date soon. :P

errr.. yes, I enjoy being a bum. I loooove being a bum. I can wake up anytime of the day. I can get massages anytime. I can skip meals all I want. I can watch all the movies I wanna watch. Pero di ibig sabihin non eh palamunin nako habang buhay. I'm waiting for something incredible to come. Positive ako na dadating yun. But as of now, siyempre I need to save up for that 'something incredible'. I can't rely on my parents that much meng. I'm an adult... Sometimes I forget that I'm just 18... laughtrip lang.

I have tons of fun whenever I'm job hunting. So I never take jobhunting seriously. I enjoy job interviews so much. Kaya paulit ulit lang. I like walking. I never accept offers. Okay, kelangan ko na talaga magayos baka mablacklist ako. hahaha

I realized that I've wasted time doing useless stuff. Kelngn ng pagbabago. :D

It's the 24th! :) probably some people completed the simbang gabi. I, however missed two nights.

The first night: I had an important appointment so i chose to catch up on my sleep.

The fifth night: I had a deeep deeeeeeep sleep. I wasn't able to wake up. :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

if you know me well, you know that i love observing people. In the seven out of nine dawn masses I attended to, I saw people of different
personalities.

1. The pray and don't mind others type.
- You'll see most of them inside the church. If possible, the first few rows from the front.
They are the so- called early birds of the simbang gabi..

2. The 'i feel so sleepy, i'd rather sleep than hear father's homily' type
- They're actually everywhere, usually they have eyes shut and mouth open. :D

3. The 'i don't freakin' care about personal space' type
-Ever experienced one morning, there are no seats available for you, you end up standing on the side of the church. You solemnly hear the father talk, the weather's fine.... then someone arrives and invades your personal space knowing that there is still space
on his/ her other side. haayy irritating lang. :P

4. The 'i needed to catch up with my friend so i woke up this early' type
- these are the type of people who just went to church just to talk talk talk talk and talk. :)

5. The 'i just came here to boilet/girlet watching' type
- This is a subtype of number 4, you normally hear them criticizing every girl/guy who walks in front of them..

I figured that i should update this blog. I still don't have anything to write about. Well, there's this one thing i'm really happy about. :)

I felt that I should be starting to find a job now. I went to my first ever job interview last Tuesday and I am positive that the future is bright for me. I know it's too shallow, but just walking along the walkway from ayala ave to landmark makes me feel like i'm 'one of them'. :) This is a good thing right? So i'm looking forward to more job interviews soon. haha.

Am I ugly?

I've had that 'i feel ugly and dumb' moment last week. I felt so ugly that I don't want to go out and meet up with friends. Maybe it's just my hormones but over it after 8 or so hours of sleep. I realized that everyone goes through that phase where confidence seem to disappear. All we needed is a friend or two, who would listen to us and give us assurance that we are not ugly. The advantage of a bum is that you've got all the free time to watch movies at your own will.

I recently had a fascination on french films so i constantly find good movies. I didn't know what this movie is about until i checked it on the ever reliable, wikipedia. The movie consists of 18 short films with an ensemble cast mainly concentrating on love in the city of love hence the tagline, "Stories of love from the heart of the city" .

My favorite was '14e arroidissement'. This is about an american woman working as a 'mail woman' in her first trip to Paris. She tells the things she love about Paris and hearing it makes me want to go there too. I don't know if i should be happy or not for the woman. She wants to share the Paris experience with someone but she's all alone watching it just gives me the chills. This is the last short story in the movie actually....

Other favorites are:

La Marais-it's about a young man who thinks that the guy who works for the poster company is his soulmate. He started blabbering and blabbering on how forces are bringing them together without giving the other guy a chance to speak. There's a twist in this short that made me laugh.
Loin du 16e- it's about a spanish mother who leaves her baby in a day care center every morning, travels from tube to tube to get to her job. Her job: babysitting a rich woman's baby. I love the lullaby she sings to the babies 'Que Linda Manita'.
Bastille- where a man plans to leave his wife for a 'hot blooded younger woman' . He then decides to stay with his wife after learning that she has leukemia and is dying soon. I love the line, (in french) 'By acting like a man in love, he became a man in love again. ' It's such a bittersweet short.
Place des victoires- A grieving mother of the death of her little boy gets a chance to say goodbye to her son with the help of an imaginary cowboy.
Tour Eiffel- a suuuper cute boy tells the story of how his parents met. His parents are mimes who faced the cruelty of the world and was both sent to prison where they first met.
Place des Fetes- Tells a story about a paramedic on her first day of work and realizes that she could've stopped the death of her parking attendant.
Faubourg Saint-Denis- this is about a blind man who receives a break-up phone call from her girlfriend, a struggling actress and reflects on the events on their relationship. The effects in this short is soo amazing, from the repetitive dialogues to the transition of the scenes. There is a big twist in this short. :) Surprising actually...

At first i thought, 'di ako mapapaiyak nito' pero nung 14e, naiyak nako.. I know, ang oa ko nanaman.

Cold Feet

I was supposed to blog about my conceited stalker who never changes her haute hairstyle, wears wrinkled clothing and has no teeth. But then I realized, why stoop down to her level right? It's just downright immature and pathetic.

Anyway,

I just received 'the' email today and I can say I was really happy when I opened the attachments. Then it hit me. When I send back the attachments to the company, tuloy tuloy na. I would have to endure all my fears. I would have to be alone dealing with god knows who. I can't elaborate on this further because I'm still keeping it as a secret. Who knows, someone I know might stumble upon this blog entry.

Mother said that I should give her two weeks to complete the requirements. I'm willing to take my time but not too much time. I wanna get this over with before the graduation ceremony and i'm willing to skip graduation for this.:P . Recession oh recession please push your breaks to the limit. :(

On the other note, I then again got cold feet. I again ditched a friend. We were supposed to go drinking tonight. I just don't know how to act in front of him. I know we're friends but we saw each other months ago and at that moment we just caught a glimpse on each other without even saying a word. I made up an excuse. I guess this is me. DAKILANG INJAN.. To think that I even bought him pasalubong from Bohol that would never reach him and did I mention he will be leaving soon?. Okay, I think he's mad now, he didn't reply to my ~~excuse/explanation~~ text. Maybe I'm thinking too much.

On Belly Rings and letting go

Last week, the maturity bug bit me. I realized that I should let go of my piercing and be a mature woman. I also have no time ~~actually, i'm too lazy~~ to buy a new ring because what i have right now is a dangling ring. It's too heavy man i'm getting tired of having to carry it on my navel! I removed it on Saturday and it felt good and different.

Then Sunday came, I had a sudden regret of removing the ring and waiting for the piercing to close so I put the ring back to my navel. I guess i'm still not ready to move on yet.

See, the reason why I told you my little story is because letting go of someone is just like letting go of my little piercing. You try to forget every little thing he did for you but you always just end up talking about him and the little things you two did again from simple things. It's like climbing on the tree but before you reach the top you end up falling again. It's good to take your time before letting it all go but remember: You can never ever take you life to a new chapter if you're not ready to let go of the past yet.

Babala : Naisipan kong gumawa ng blog sa ating sariling wika. Lakas trip lang manong.. :P

Nagbibilang ako ng araw pabalik ng isang taon. Nakita ko na saktong isang taong nakakaraan eh ang 'tamang panahon' nakalagay sa kalendaryo ng selpon ko eh. Natatawa lang ako. Yung yun araw kung san papayagan ko na ang isang ka-ibigan na manghimasok sa buhay ko. Eh parang tanga, masyado siyang nagmamadali kaya di natuloy yung tamang panahon. Ayaw din ng mga kaibigan ko sakanya dahil malandi siya sa ibang babae at makapal di ren kagwapuhan di ren siya katangkaran, pero magaling magbasketbol. Dahil sakanya araw araw ako nagpapalit ng hikaw. haha

Sayang, binibilang ko pa naman kung ilang oras na lang para sabhin sakanya na it's time!! :) Naalala ko, me countdown pa kami sa ym noon para kaming mga bata naturingang nasa college na kami parehas. Okay, ang adik ko pati yung ym conversation namin noong araw na un eh hinahanap ko. Naalala ko, nakanta pako ng nakanta ng ordinary people 'take it slow' daw. Deep inside naman eh trip na trip ko un palaka. Naaalala ko yung moments namin sa lobby at library. Parang mga tanga lang eh. haha Pero kahit papano, di kami nagbitter bitteran at magkaibigan parin kami ngayon. :)

on commuting

I always say that i want to experience metro manila by commuting and feel the pollution in manila. I partly achieved what i want yesterday.

Well, braving the streets of manila is such an adventure and getting lost is always a given. I can't say commuting was hell because I had fun yesterday, probably because i'm with friends.

Ever experienced eavasdropping to the woman sitting next to you in the jeep and roll your eyes out of disgust because she's nagpapacute to the guy she's talking to the phone with? haha Enough about that, lets get to the point.

With all the happenings yesterday, I realized that life is just like commuting. Like riding the public transport, life is very challenging. You would have to be creative to get to your destination point. Creative in terms of which roads to take or in terms of commuting what kind of public transport to take (jeep, bus or mrt/lrt) .

There are times that we get lost along the way but all it takes to be back on track is looking at the signs. Or maybe just maybe a person to accompany you or give you directions to your destination. At the end of the day, you're really tired but happy because you never gave up and you're finally home to take that long hot shower and wash all the dirt away! :P.

I've been doing alot of thinking lately. It was partly influenced by a conversation between me and a close friend of mine.

Don't you just love the feeling of liking someone. It doesn't matter if he/she likes you back just as long as you like that person. Of course, being liked back is a big PLUS! but sometimes if that person is juuust way out of your league, it's just enough for you to be inspired. Seeing that person, simple gestures like noticing you, i know its sooo highschool but you know very well that we all like this feeling.

So Mr. Inspiration, please show yourself to me at this very moment. pretty pretty please??? :) Then I would love to entertain you. ahaha

Chinese people and weight gain seem to haunt me these days. I think 'haunt' is a strong word but i'm too lazy to think of any other word. haha. I recently had a dream involving chinese people who I believe is speaking Fukkien (how do you spell it anyway?). These chinese dudes have been saying that I look pretty but I am too fat ... (Fat for what? i don't know either).

Once I got out of bed, I realized that I should buy myself my own jumprope which led me to remembering my other chinese friend who told me that jumproping is good if you intend to lose weight. Then after we heard mass, I saw that chinese friend on his way out with his family and i think two weeks ago my friend and I happened to talk about him. haha wala lang it was just a funny coincidence.. :P

On the other note, I realized that it's good to play time crisis when you have a period. haha I was so irritable last sunday that i wanna kick something or whatever. So i tried playing timecrisis. Turns out, i play better when i have my period I reached area 2! for the first time!!!. haha

I've been keeping myself busy recently. Going out often kahit super pointless ng lakad ko. haha and i have been watching plenty of dvd's recently. I just finished ugly betty. and I really like gio for betty. haha I also want someone who would say 'I don't wanna be the rebound guy, i wanna be the guy'...ayyy kinikilig ako! haha

I still don't have the drive to start working. i'm still young i have a lot of time. haha and I'm praying and waiting for 'the' opportunity to happen.

I am feeling emo, with people around me leaving one by one the distribution list on my cellphone gets shorter and shorter by the minute. :(

It hurts to think that there is a possibility that we wont see each other again. I just hope fate brings us back together again. (i know this is pointless but i just needed to get this out of my system)

Another reason for my emoness is that I don't know what I want to do in my life. It's just been a week and i feel like a bum for a long long time. See? I can't stay put for a long time!!! I don't want to stay here for a month or so. But I don't want to commute also(I know, maarte ako). haha So do i have a choice?? I'm just not ready to become a working woman just yet.. Baka next month ready na ako. haha

I have recently met with someone who made a big impact in my life.

It's good to know that we are very much alike. At first, i thought that what others have been telling me are all imbentos but i guess i was wrong. Meeting that person again made me very happy though i can't ask for more time to talk to that person and talk about business and the real world. I guess i should be thankful that i got to talk to him.

And then, he gave me a treat. The best treat i got which i consider as a gift for finishing college. :) all the hard work paid off with just one night...

Anyway, in less than a month we'll have our final exams already final exams of our college life. Wow! I'm graduating....!!! yes! I managed to not lose my scholarship(with the help of the pity card).

I still don't have plan B's and C's in my life. Plan A seems so hard to achieve.The things seems so long to be approved. But hell patience is a virtue right? Imma enjoy my bumlife muna.. :) I'm emotionless now. I don't feel anything I don't feel sad or excited. Steady lang talaga. That's so weird.

Well anyway, last saturday I started my SAP classes. Well it was okay I learned alot. Unfortunately, the system requirements cannot be reached by my baby lappie. That's why i can't download the software... Sayang!!!

I'm planning to sell my psp and fisheye cam. Still undecided about it but i really want to. For extra money ba if ever plan a will push through

Chasing Pavements - ADELE

This post was supposed to be about my obsession on headbands or what i call blairbands. However, when i was listening to Adele's song, Chasing Pavements. I got into the it. So into it that i will post an entry about it.

Well, lets state the obvious. It's about an unrequited love. Listen to the lyrics you'll know. Well its normal when someone you love deeply doesn't love you back. Almost every singer has atleast one song about that situation. But what kind of amazed me was when i realized that Chasing Pavements is somewhat a metaphor(ang babaw eh no. haha). Read this:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is my favorite movie of all time.. :) And that scene I have just posted above what you are reading right now is actually my favorite scene.

This scene never fails to make me cry. I know, ang OA! But it's true. I love that scene. Too bad some person was too careless to lose my dvd of the movie. So it means that i MIGHT buy another dvd of the movie.

Which leads to what i've been thinking. What if we could modify our lives. I mean, when we make bad decisions we call a specialist and he fixes the wrong decision you made right away? That would be cool right? but i think it ruins the essence of learning from your mistakes.

School has been giving us reasons to ruin our lives. Why?

it's because we don't have a definite schedule. It's our third week already and I still don't feel it yet. Para kaming bakasyon parin! We wasted money on practically nothing! I haven't learned anything yet. The prof in one subject will be changed. WALA PAKONG NATUTUTUNAN! Naasar ako kasi last term na, tapos ganito pa!

Anyway, since classes are cancelled we decided to bond. Then I realized, alcohol does wonders. It makes you whiter and prettier after. haha weird. Kalechehan ko lang. And karaoke definitely is a real stress reliever. Though you get tired vocal chords after. Pagod ka na. But mind you, i love karaoke kahit super tone deaf ako.. :)

We all have our own share of drunkdom moments. It's normal. At first it's very embarassing but in time, you'll just laugh about it and think 'taena!' haha.

Then i met up with sis and jon. haha. Jon, apparently is about to leave tommorrow for New Zealand. Nagvacation lang xa dito. But he's based in New Zealand for a year now. Would you believe that the last time i saw him was in our HS graduation? haha. Grabe oh. It's funny kasi he never changed. Well physically oo. Pero un ugali eh hindi. haha. Laughtrip parin eh. Ay nako! di ka pumunta sa debut ko!!!!! Pshhhhh. Tuminits!

Then we put him on the hotseat. Asked him questions on everything. Then one line strucked us. He said..

"Basta, wag kayong magseseryoso nang di kayo masaktan"

nakapikit pa talaga si dario eh. haha

Take it from a guy's point of view girlfriend! Ay nako jon! We'll miss you kahit once lang tau nagkabonding nun umuwi ka. Andaming balak: inom, ft, akyat bundok. Walang natuloy. hahaha
Semi-ft lang haha.

Bahala ka, susundan ka namin dyan sa New Zealand!!!! hahaha. Makikiinom ako ng tubig. hahahaha :P In 1-5 years, anjan na kami ni lorna!!!!! Get ready, get ur food ready den. ahhahahaha

I enjoyed this day but then again, my conscience seems to be working now. I thought to myself, 'Am I doing the right thing?'

But then again, we have a choice. To either go out with your friends or spend an alone time with yourself and be more productive. I realized that life is not all about fun, life is not all about boys, life is not all about money. It's about making the right choices. And i am starting now. I know that I have said this in a gazzilion times, I need to set my goals straight. Avoid disctractions. Think: tunnel vision. Oh i miss my old self i'm not liking what i am now. I need to find the old carmina quick!

I recently downloaded gta. haha. It's like i'm watchng the sopranos eh. Yung accent. Ngayon ko lang den nalaman na its about Italian mobsters. hahaa

Then naisip ko, stereotype lang kaya un? Yung tipong parang lagi silang galit magsalita.

Well anyway, I slept at 3:30 am. It's because i was playing. haha. Natulugan ko pa yung kausap ko kagabi.. Sorry... :)

I'm starting to watch season 4 of Grey's anatomy. I know! super delayed ko na! Really old guy is dead. Ang lungkot... And then i realized, si Izzie madaling madala sa patients nia. She is super sensitive. I'm currently loading episode 4. Antagal!!!

It's the time of the year. I'm getting zits again. Ganito talaga pag first term eh. Regardless of the amount of stress and etc. Imma get a facial next week.

Anyway, I am getting used to my so-called schedule. Which is:

F- class/noclass
Sat-tentative makeup class/es
Sun-Fam day

Parang bum kaya ako. And I was not able to attend class last sat. I overslept!! sarap matulog eh. Kasi it was raining hard. haha. So me absent nako. I need to set my goals straight again!

And theeeeen, we went to a job fair. Then I realized that i'm not ready to work pa. Imma stay at home til sept. ahha.

Di ko alam. Wala ako sa mood magblog. I have no new kwentos eh.samesame lang. Lots of my friends are leaving na in a couple of months or less. I'm sad kasi konti nalang kami. Papa Dale will be leaving in July, Marj will be leaving in 8 weeks (accdg. to her shoutout), Owen and Joakima too. And also jane. Hay, i'm going to miss the bonding times. Yun mga tamang tambay lang and kwentos sa loob ng sasakyan ni dale. SUSUNDAN KO KAYO JAN! kala nio ah! hahaha

if you just realize what i just realized

I am feeling very regretful today.

I've learned a couple of things that made me realize that i just wasted my 5 or so months doing that thing. And i ended up losing something that meant so much to me.

I realized that it was not nothing. There was really something there but I got blinded by the other thing. LITERALLY BLINDED PARE! So I decided to choose the other thing. Without weighing the consequences or whatever. Without knowing that I would repeat history again.

I realized that you cared about me but I got scared because I thought you were just playing with my feelings. I realized that you were really a knight in shining armour. I realized how much i pretended that i didn't feel anything to avoid confusion. I decided to avoid you.

I realized that you might probably a little bitter because of what I have done before so you ended up making me cry without you knowing. It made me mad so I used the opportunity to avoid you even more. Making you believe that i am happy, that i have someone.

I realized that avoiding you was the worse thing I have ever done(as of now). We were friends. But i just threw it all away. There could've been something, but i tried to ignore it. Now, i'm regretting it.

I miss those stolen glances, eye contacts, conversations about anything and being friends with you....

There is no turning back time now, right? :

I don't want to go to school yet.

Aiza and I were using each other's unlitxts kanina and we talked about not wanting to go to school yet. Not wanting to study yet. I just think that there is something missing.

I know that our reason why we don't want to go to school is so mababaw. But it means so much to us. Basta. This term is just... Different.
